Here are a couple of pictures of the bright yellow and red flowers on my Hamatocactus setispinus. The flowers are just so pretty with the bright yellow and bright red centers. The Pistil is just amazing and makes me thing of a sea creature that is going to grab any pollen that passes by.
These cacti are found in Southern Texas and Mexico. Mine is found on my porch. 😉
The spines grow in clusters. Only 1 from each cluster shoots up and has a hook on the end, the other spines shorter and lay flat out.
Just look at those bright colors.
Now, who wouldn’t be happy to walk out and be greeted by such a pretty flower?
